 Zumba Fitness Class

Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements, which create a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system!

Beginning June 1st, classes will be every Tuesday from 6-7pm and will cost $5 each class. $45 for 10 classes in advance.

announces its first season of Summer Programs: Summer Shakespeare, Kids on Stage!, and Filming Reality.

 

Summer Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet

  • Participants ages 12 to 18 will rehearse and perform an abridged version of Shakespeare's teen love story, and will be instructed in classical acting techniques including voice and movementStudents will learn to understand Shakespeare's language and interpret it in a modern setting.
  • Monday, June 28 - Friday, July 30 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays | Performances July 30-August 1

Kids on Stage!  Old Time Radio

  • Fun meets history and entertainment as participants from ages 7 to 12 explore life growing up in the 1930s and 1940s. Children will take part in games, crafts, and making snacks popular during that time period. Visits to the New Britain Museum of American Art and the New Britain Industrial Museum will be included. In the final week of the program, children will perform a live radio show--for family and invited guests--in period dress using authentic radio scripts and featuring sound effects made with ordinary household objects.
  • Monday, June 28 - Friday, July 23 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays
  • $75 per week, or $250 for all four weeks

Film Workshop: Filming Reality

  • Ten students, ages 12 to 18, will work with a Hollywood filmmaker to film and edit a short reality series or documentary using simple film equipment.
  • Wednesdays only, June 30 - July 28  | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
